User question regarding PagePile: SPARQL on Commons?

[edit]

Hi Magnus, it seems that a SPARQL query is executed always against the Wikidata repository, even if I set commons / wikimedia in the input fields above. Is there a way to get a PagePile based on a SPARQL query on Commons? Fl.schmitt (talk) 17:15, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IIRC Commons SPARQL requires login, which complicates things for me (as a bot). I'll look into it though, maybe there is an easy way around. --Magnus Manske (talk) 08:01, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fist

[edit]

Hi Magnus. I came across this tool a few days ago but after some discussion with the biology community here, it appears that the tool has been slowing down and quitting wprse and worse. Right now I can't even access it. Do you have any interest in taking a look/providing insight on the status here? Thanks for your time and consideration. - NotAGenious (talk) 19:07, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NotAGenious, there are several tools under that umbrella. Are you talking about FIST or WD-FIST or WD4WP? --Magnus Manske (talk) 07:53, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
An example that doesn't work would also help. --Magnus Manske (talk) 08:20, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Petscan and FlaggedRevs

[edit]

Hi, sorry to bother you here, but I find the Petscan tool very effective for finding pages with pending changes within a given category and its subcategories. However, due to recent changes in the database tables, Petscan now throws an error when attempting to find such pages (example query). This issue was submitted three months ago: GitHub. I understand you're busy, and I feel bad for asking here, but would you be able to take a look and possibly fix this issue? Thanks in advance, Tufor (talk) 19:33, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
